Guest guest
Again hmm... 2006/7/24, Baker : > Kombucha is a food. The alcohol content is the same as fruit juice, so > avoiding KT during pregnancy out of fear of alcohol would mean that women > shouldn't drink fruit juice during pg? I don't think so. Oh no! Fruit juice is evil too! We should ban it to make sure no pregnant woman drinks it! > Kombucha is a highly nutritious food that gives the body the building > blocks to do with as it pleases. That is the difference between a drug and > a food, is that the body chooses what to do with the substance, it is not > *told* to do with it. Well, both food and drugs change the chemical balance of the body. Some of these substances put naturally occuring things in, like proteins, amino acids, carbohydrates, water, minerals, and even dimethyltryptamine, which is a naturally occuring chemical in the brain. Some put other chemicals in, like ibeauprofin, any number of antibiotics, and psylocibin, which don't occur naturally. But because we see a bigger effect on the body and/or the mind, we think of it as a drug, wether it's medicinal, or so called recreational, or both. So just put in what's good for you, that's all . Kombucha certainly has lot's of things in it that are good for you, but don't occur in the body itself, including caffiene. So you can always call kombucha a psychotropic drug. It >provides the body with the constituents to balance itself. " > >what in Kombucha specifically achieves those goals? I don't know what in kombucha specifically achieves those goals, and I don't have to know. What I'm referring to are the actions reported: people who need to lose weight lose weight, and vice versa. People with high blood pressure find it lowered, those with too low find it raised to a good level. People with dry skin who use it topically and those with oily skin both find that it improves their skin toward a middle ground. People with too-thick blood have their blood balance back to neutral. I also use the term " balancer " to mean, bringing health back into balance, as in, correcting out-of-balance issues. >2) " giving one's body optimal nutrition during pregnancy " > >What are the optimal nutrition in kombucha that you are >referring to ? I'm not saying kombucha itself constitutes optimal nutrition-- obviously humans may not live on KT alone. I am saying that as a food in one's diet it provides important (and rare) building blocks (the important acids and polysaccharides) that the body uses for crucial functions, and also aids the body in nutrient uptake and absorption (via gut conditioning). So it is a part of optimal nutrition, being the highly nutritious food that it is, with the additional benefit of increasing the body's ability to utilize nutrients. A very smart choice. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Muste
