Hi Heidi, I have tried Zeolite before.I have heard that it is too big to cross the BBB.I did Zeolite along with CaEDTA IV chelation. I did UTMs with and without Zeolite (with CaEDTA).I found there was some additional excretion of other toxic elements other than Pb or Hg, with Zeolite, but not a whole lot. I was worried about it having Al, so I stopped.I am planning to try the Cowden protocol soon. Are you planning to start all the herbs in the rotation? My problem is that my son is trying mainstreaming more this year. He does good when i do a bunch of antimicrobials but stop everything on his school days. (Last week it was 4 days). If i give his antimicrobials on

school days, he probably has some die-off, he doesnt do great.Would you have tried any strategies like more aggressive protocol from fri-sun, and then some maintenance on school days...?Thank you so much for all your help and inspiration,Pramila Zeolite

I will be doing the Cowden protocol. I am ok with it except for the

Zeolite. I never used this. I heard good and bad about it. I imagine

that is what is said about all chelators. What wisdom do you all have

for me on it? I think my biggest fear is of it staying in the body and

not leaving. I don't know why I think that, but there is something

weird about the way it works.

No, I didn't do anything complicated. I give supplements twice a day

and that's it. On the Cowden Protocol it will be the same. I am

skipping lunch doses. I think a slow pace is what is best -- less

die-off, less reactions. I do start new things on Friday though, to

see what is going on. So far, die-off has not gotten anyone sent

home from school, but there was more crankiness. I usually get the

most sick with horrible fatigue.

I am not sure the whole BBB still applies. I think nowadays our BBB

is much less of a barrier and definitely not what it used to be.

Thus, I am not trusting things won't cross it anymore. Thanks for

sharing, at least it was a good experience for your boy. That's

hopeful.

Dear Heidi; If you don't feel comfortable about it, then I would wait. Honestly, I don't know much about NCD myself. I know that it last about 4 hs in the system. Two years ago, I couldn't care less about NCD. We just started using NCD in March. I just did it, because it felt right at the time. A friend of mine, who has 4 kids to treat, asked me "What was I waiting for?" All her kids did wonderful on the NCD. But then again, she gave them ALA after 6 months of NCD. The combo for her kids, worked. I still didn't start the ALA. Will in about a couple of months. I just started taking the NCD. Can't really report anything good or bad at this time. I think you will know when the time is right for your family. It will just hit you, when you least expect it.

I did Zeolite for about 6 months for and myself and did not see

anything good or bad from it. Although dehydration was an issue for

and the way I noticed was his eyelids seemed to lose moisture, it

was very strange looking. I did stop due to this and never resumed. I

think about trying again at some point and did see that it is in the

Cowden protocol. I am ramping up for that protocol myself for and

not sure if I will use the Zeolite. If I do, it would be later on. I

will probably do everything else except for that. Mostly because I

have a hard time getting to drink enough water as it is.

Heidi,

The Zeolite products used in Cowden protocol is not the regular liquid Zeolite or NCD. They are in powder form and contain either some homeopathic frequency or dilution of metals. I do not know exactly which method is used. It is said that these products are not absorbed into the body; rather they travel through the intestines binding toxins along the way and carrying the toxins with them.

Processed in homeopathic preparation, NutraMedix Zeolite is said to detoxify lead and nichel, while Zeolite HP (stands for high potency) is said to detoxify aluminum, arsenic, barium, cadmium, lead, mercury, nickel, radium, silver, tin, and titanium.

The chelation protocol that Dr. Cowden recommended for Ingvar is to take one capsule of Zeolite HP before breakfast, once every 3 days together with DMSA, Algas, and NDF. I think that NutraMedix Zeolite is a metal blinder not a metal mobilizer. To do chelation effectively, you would need some metal mobilizer as well. There are studies of the effectiveness of Red Algae and Cilantro in mobilizing the heavy metals out of the interior of the cells. Algas is made of an extract of Giartina chamissoi, a red algae collected in the Pacific Ocean off the Peruvian coast. NDF contains both micronized Cilantro (mobilizer) and micronized and cell wall decimated Chlorella (binder). Dr. Klinghardt comments that Cilantro is under utilized in this country. He believes that Cilantro is a potent detoxifer for metals and many health conditions.

However, I did not implement Dr. Cowden's chelation protocol. First, I was not comfortable with taking DMSA once every 3 days. I know that Dr. Horowitz also recommends this way. But we have been following Andy Cutler chelation protocol; he believes that the half life of oral DMSA is 4 hours, and taking DMSA orally in an interval less than 4 hours would raise the chance of metal redistribution. Secondly, Ingvar did not tolerate Zeolite HP. I gave it to him twice, 3 days apart. He vomited within 20 minutes each time. His body rejected it.

We had used NDF and Liverlife for a half year prior to our appointment with Dr. Cowden. He muscle tested these products and commented that they are both good for Ingvar. I have been using these Bioray products still. Although I did not implement Cowden chelation protocol, I got Algas on board, and later Avea. Dr. Cowden recommends Avea for his patient who has a mood swing or depression problem. Ingvar does not fit in neither categories. I mainly use Avea (liquid Curcumin) at our chelation weekends as aluminum mobilizer.

I would like to second that opinion about cilantro. I have done very well on Premier Research's HM detox (nanoized chlorella), low dose DMSA, and R-ALA.

I decided to try adding cilantro to the mix and got terrible headaches and joint pain that I had never had. It definitely seemed to redistribute the metals or me.

-- Re: Zeolite

I can't speak for the powder but the NCD is 100% eliminated from the

body, normally within about seven hours. My daughter had chronic

meningitis and after a few days on the NCD her daily migraines

vanished. I kept her on it for about 6 weeks and they have never

returned and this is two years later. Her kidney problems also

vanished. This is a girl who had bedwetting very regularly her whole

life. I had treated her bowels before the NCD since she had extreme

pain there and also had recurring candida since babyhood so her bowels

were working very well. Some people have bowel issues when starting

NCD and this is due to candida. Candida will ALWAYS be present if

there is mercury in the body and the body cannot ever get into an

alkaline state if there is mercury. It's a vicious cycle.

Regarding cilantro: it's the very last thing I would ever try. Some,

not all, people get very adverse problems with it and they may be

irreversible. A bit on your food is far different than taking the

tinctures or using the pesto.
