I am 37 and have not worked since 2001 and I applied for SSI in 2004

maybe and I was denied, but I just had severe heel and some

neuropathy and was getting 40% disibility from the VA.

Since then I have hired a lawyer and have been diagnosed with CMT

and my conditons have continued to worsen and the VA has increased

my benefits from 40% to 70% and I am waiting to get it increased to

100% and be unemployable.

I was told by some members of this group when I 1st joined that the

review board for the SSI has a book they use and if your diagnoses

is in it then they will grant you the disibility for compensation

(SSI), and I was told the CMT was in the book and I would be

covered, is this true does anyone know for sure?? my review board

is coming up sometime in 2007 and I was starting to worry and I was

just hoping that they would grant me the disability.

I would think with me not working since 2001, and the VA going to

pay me 100% disabilty , and with the CMT and my medical condition

worsening , they would see my health is not good. I was already told

they can't do anything else for me, just give me pain medication and

try to make me as comfortable as possible.

I thank you for reading this and for giving any input and

answering....

thanks :)
