Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well I decided to take the plunge again this year and push my physical limits. I have signed up for the half triathlon in London (permission to walk the 5km) and also to a 44km in a day walk for Breast Cancer. Some of you may remember that the reason I found out I had CMT was because in 2003 I did a half marathon (walking) and my foot really hurt after, so when I signed up for a full marathon in 2004 I went to sort it out before I did the marathon (get orthotics) and one thing led to another and I got my diagnosis. In 2005 I did a 60km in two days, and then in 2006 took a year off as we bought a house which I managed the modernisation efforts - and combined with work travel had no time to train. Anyway, wish me luck. I am fundraising (as usual) for Breast Cancer, CMT and also a scholarship for US university women. You can read more about my efforts on http://home.earthlink.net/~sponsordonna - I am trying to figure out how to link a blog to my pages to better publish and track my training. That is this evening's task! Thanks for your tips everyone on nutrition and training - which I am building into my routines, along with trying to remember to take the Vitamin C to build strength, and possibly some MBTs to stretch my Achilles while out and about walking (not training though I have New Balance with orthotics for that)... All the best from rainy London, Donna
