Hello everyone,

I went to a new nurologist last week and went in yesterday for a nerve

conduction and EMG (fun, fun). While doing the EMG the tech asked if I was

having alot of back pain I am so I told him yes. But today it is even more

painful. Does anyone know how that was possible that he knew I had been having

lower back pain and today 1 day after it is worse? I am waiting for the

neurologist to call to ask him but I thought someone here may know. Also while

he was doing the EMG my calf muscle started spasms and then I got a terrible

cramp has this ever happened to

anyone?

Thanks for any replies.

Anne,

Perhaps he knew from the readings of your EMG, or the way you walked

in. How long were you lying flat for the EMG? Lying flat on a hard

table can be difficult when someone has back pain and perhaps that is

why it seems worse today. As for the muscle spasm, does your back pain cause leg

pain?

I think on my EMG the tech actual aggravated a back problem I called the neuro

yesterday and he gave me a dose pack steriod to take for a week that should help

with the pain.

There is a new machine out there called The DRX 9000 which is a spine

decompression medical device has anyone ever heard of this? I am considering

this, they say you will be be neck and back pain free. I think it is something

like a chropractor would do.
