Guest guest
Dear ers, I realize many of you haven't had good docs, so I pose this question for input: What makes a " good " doctor? What do you want a doctor to do? What do you want a doctor to say? Do you want a phone 'lifeline' to your doctor? Do you just want to be able to 'check in' once or twice a year and that's it? Do you want a doctor who will listen to your list of symptoms and give you relief? Do you want your doctor to be a friend? Do you want your doctor to read and understand the CMT information you bring to her/him? Do you want your doctor to take Continuing Education Units in neuropathy or neuromuscular syndromes, etc? Do you want 'medical guidance' in living your daily life? Do you want referrals to other doctors, or orthotists? Do you want your doctor to spend an hour with you or 15 minutes? Do you want to call your doctor on a Monday and get an appointment for Thursday? Do you want a doctor to take away your CMT? Exactly what makes a " good " doctor? ~ Gretchen
