Guest guest
Actually the girl that dropped out of the program due to etg, was on antabuse and tried to use that as her defense and they said you can still drink on antabuse you might get ill, but that doesn't prove against relapse. --- Lorie <lorieg@...> wrote: > > and those who can't get the positives to stop: > > Have you considered going on observed Antabuse? Guest guest
Thank you, Gretchen. AA is an excellent idea. I tried it 10 years ago, but I was not determined enough to stick to it. This weekend I read again the Big Book and also found places of AA meetings nearby on the website. You reinforced my decision. 28 years of being sober, I wish I could do it, too! Antabuse and psychotherapy would be supplementary tools, but I'm still not sure. I had Antabuse 3 times in the early 90's without harmful effects, but now my CMT is much worse. I still need to think about it. Kind regards, Tibor
Guest guest
Hello Tibor, I'm kinda slow on commenting on this conversation, but I thought I'd let you know that too am involved in the AA program and while I can't compare with 28 years (wow) I have been sober for 4. If you were looking for information or just wanted to talk about the Big Book, I'd like to offer any assistance. Defman

Guest guest
well I went on it for a while for similar reasons and I had to have liver function tests done on a regular basis. But I am sorry I don't think I am qualified to tell you more , perhaps robin can help, personally I feel its ridiculous to subject oneself to just another drug that is dangerous without drinking.Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL.com. Guest guest
agree bobbi, disulfiram has been reported to frequently cause liver injury increased LFTs sometimes acute hepatitis. In rare cases, disulfiram-induced hepatitis can lead to acute liver failure and liver transplantation.Review carefully side effects metabolism drugs.com medicine.net...in theory it should as a liver drug interfering with normal ETOH oxidative degradation pathways actually increase EtG exponentially during metabolism so i would try to test outside of the half life of the drug as much as possible if i had to take it...regards,r lilibit007@... wrote: well I went on it for a while for similar reasons and I had to have liver function tests done on a regular basis.
