Guest guest
Hi. I just started looking for websites about CMT even though I've had it for years. I'm 55 and I remember having " weak ankles " since childhood. I didn't see a doctor about it until I was in my 20's and " fell off " a pair of two-inch heels, badly spraining my ankle. It hasn't caused me a lot of problems until recently, when I started dropping things. I wear AFOs and I use a cane, but this did not really bother me until I spilled a huge glass jar of olives on my kitchen floor and had to clean up the mess. I have to admit I'm a little frightened at the prospect of losing dexterity in my hands; especially of losing my grip. Can somebody tell me if CMT can cause someone to be dependent on other people for everyday tasks? This is my fear. Thanks for reading this.
