Guest guest
Hello, I've been having a new problem that started within the past couple months. It's my left foot only. If I get up and walk around for even a short period of time without my braces or supportive shoes, it's like the bones in my left ankle start popping out of position every time I take a step. It's a very jarring sliding out of position kind of pop. Doesn't hurt, just very annoying, distracting, and definitely doesn't feel right. Even if I then put my braces and shoes on, it continues for a while. Should I be worried about this? Besides putting on my shoes and braces as soon as I get up (which is at least an 8 minute process), I don't know what else to do.
Guest guest
Hello, I had a bone out of place also. My massage therapist discovered it, and put it back. I do not have any feeling in my feet so I couldn't feel it, but I feel it move around. Kay

Guest guest
Sounds like your ankle is unstable without the braces. Perhaps atrophied muscle is causing the bone/joint to pop out of position. Best to see your orthopedist, maybe also your orthotist too. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Hello, According to my experience, sometimes it might because that our muscle becomes kind of weaker and thus can't hold the bone strongly and thus we might feel that the bones are moving. If I feel pain, such as my bones move because I fall down and really hurt my bones, I will see doctors. If I don't feel pain and no reasons I can think of that I fall down or hurt my bones, I will try to do some exercises to try to strengthen my muscle to hold my bones tighter. Please take care, Caroline
Guest guest
Have you read any info. about Charcot's foot? You might check the site below and if this sounds like what you are experiencing you need to see your Dr. immediately. Even if this isn't what's going on, it's better to be safe than sorry. I know that there have been others on this forum who have suffered with Charcot's foot. http://www.mamashealth.com/foot/charfoot.asp
Guest guest
Having peripheral neuropathy means that just because there is no pain doesn't mean something is not wrong. It means we have to pay attention to other indicators, such as swelling, is it warm to the touch, misshapen, etc. I think we all start to pop and crack more as we get older, but if it concerns you as not being quite right, you should see a doctor. Good luck. O
Guest guest
Personally, I have a problem with my metetarsal bone. Because of the weakness in my ankle, my heel " rolls " to the left. Over time this is causing a shift of my foot to the left. Now the metetarsal (little toe bone) is jutting out of the side of my foot and it can cause some pain. It has not broken skin or anything, but it can cause severe pain some days.
Guest guest
Even though you do not have any broken skin, there may be a reason for the severe pain. I just went through the same problem and the doctor discovered that the middle bone jutting out of the little toe was actually ulcerated on the inside! The doctor said I was very lucky that came in when I did, as I was on my way to a significant infection of the foot. We do not have all the feeling we should, so by the time you have a severe pain, it's a good chance that something big may be going on.
