Tami,

THANK YOU FOR THIS AND EVERYTHING YOU ARE DOING!!!

You ARE making a difference and the efforts in this list are making

a difference!! It's always slow being on a path as difficult as we

are on, but we are making a difference one " starfish " at a time.

I've been so busy researching, looking up post numbers and fighting

an absolutely rediculous school battle...you wouldn't believe me if

I told you it's THAT bad! OK, I can't contain any longer. I really

like 's new teacher, don't get me wrong so this has just

floored me. Heck she's on my side of the inclusion issue and isn't

treating us like we just bring the high test scores down (he's only

the second ASD child they've put through the school in 9 years...all

the rest have been shipped to low income schools way across town so

they don't have to deal with them....the down syndrom kindergardener

that just tried to enroll was so rudely treated with their " better

than you " attitude that the principal didn't even return their phone

calls and when they finally came in were told they did not have the

staff to accomodate them...so they went to the school down the

street who helped them and they are now in a regular ed

classroom....they did not want to fight our schools attitude. It's

horrible! Anyway, the teacher has taken 4 pictures of the 4th grade

students and is cutting them up. Pieces of their faces will be

removed for disiplinary reasons. If you are missing part of your

face at the end of the week you won't get the weekly prize. Going to

the bathroom other than scheduled breaks (1am, lunch/recess, 1pm)

constitutes a forfiture of a piece of their face....YES this is all

true. I slept a sum total of 3 hours having to once again be the

rebellous mother. I signed the form refuting 2 things, one of them

being the bathroom issue...stating my son has documented IBS and

kidney issues and of the 2 tests run by my doctor after school, both

showed significant dehydration as my son will not drink because " it

makes him go pee " . I admonished them to please keep there

disaplinary actions with him considering his disablility! I have

just spent the entire summer trying to retrain him to drink water

and go pee when he need to...come home to this note. Sorry to dump

here but it just gets so darn frustrating!!

You guys and our WA group have become my major support. THANK YOU

and keep your chins up!!!

Rita

Tami:

Everyday, our members grow on this forum and also I belong to other forums where I and others on this forum have been spreading the news about lyme and other infections. Many are reporting they are getting their children tested and many are reporting positive test results. Thus, many are being helped. I like to think that for everyone who learns this information, they will spread the word to at least 10 people. And some of those 10 will spread the word to about 10. But the bottom line is that, in my opinion, and I study a lot, is that the LIAF website has the cutting edge information and doctors. This website and forum has made all the difference for my family. It was your posting about doctors finding lyme in our children that woke me up to it. I had seen several other postings by parents, but I just treated it like isolated incidents until I saw your postings on articles in the Public Health Alert online newsletter. I love that Newsletter. Its the truth. I am so indebted to the vast amount of people DONATING their time to help this world out. We are in a state of emergency, and many of us who see this are trying to be very responsible to help out others.

Unfortunately, many have jumped into the autism arena with their main focus being greed. We are in this mess in the first place because of greed. Thus, I think you will always get criticism from those who are in it for greed or who are jealous. After all, when they criticize you, they would not waste their time if their was no reason to be concerned about your information. Look how all the great people in our history get criticized still today. Thus, think of it as a compliment. Besides, honest research is coming that will put things together. If we don't keep spreading the word, who will? When times get rough, and they will always be rough here and there, just take a break. Its ok to take a break here and there, and recoup. I think you are so special and so are many who are on this forum and connected to the LIAF. We all have our roles, and its a beautiful thing. I think we need some more volunteers though. I know there are people out there like us who want to be a part of this advocacy.
