Guest guest
On the other hand I was talking to our friend who happens to be a psychiatrist and he said that there were parents that were wanting him to write prescriptions for their kids without even willing to hear about anything else. There are Rx drum beaters on both sides of the fence. I would say that parents like us burrowing into the fields of herbs and supplements are the minority. The rest of the world out there wants a quick fix. He further said he did not know where to send the ASD kids (nice job government!!!, a pediatrician said the same thing to me a few months ago) and I gave him the ARI website for reference. Oh and he also said that in the last year they are looking to make drugs for kids that are neuroprotective, apparently until now Big Pharma was aware that these drugs can fry kids' brains. Did you ever see a disclaimer to that effect? " Warning: SSRIs can fry your brain!! Guest guest
> > Gayatri ....then there are those of us out there that look for doctor's to be " lab order'ers " heee I thought of all of us that have lab wish lists. What's bad is when your explaining to the doctor what the lab will tell him. Guest guest
Yes. My now 16 year old son had several psychiatrists, and most acted just like this. They were especially trying to push Prozac and Zoloft. As a matter of fact, everyone I talk to on psych meds has been prescribed one or both of those at some time no matter what the diagnosis. Good thing my boy stopped needing those crazy psych meds a couple of years ago when we started the recovery journey. I still own them all a letter of thanks for nothing or rather my son does. Heidi N My husband's doctor prescribed the newest (at that time) anti-depressant. After taking it for a few days, it made my husband irrational. I told the doctor, at the next appt, what had happened, and that I had thrown the meds out. The doctor got really angry and said he guessed that meant my husband didn't need meds, and so he wouldn't write a prescription for anything different! I suspected he must be getting kick-backs for prescribing certain meds, which would explain his strange reaction. My husband didn't go back to him. We should have filed a complaint, but there was alot going on at the time, and this sort of got lost in the shuffle. KimGet fantasy football with free live scoring.
