Guest guest
Hi there, I don't know where you are in Texas. I have found 2 people who really have helped me. In Dallas, it is Mike Mojico at UTSW prothesis and orthotoics clinic. He works and works to make the orthotic do its job and be comfortable as well. He also has adjusted my shoes to fit the AFO. In Houston, the guy who runs Village Boot Shop in Rice Village is terrific. He is a bootmaker, but has made orthotics and shoes for me. He has diabetes, so is really familiar with peripheral neuropathy and understands the importance of getting it right. Big drawback - he is not an orthotist by profession, so insurance will probably not pay anything. In general I agree with you. It is really tough to find the right person who will work with you. And our insurance only pays for braces, not AFOs! Ho Hum.... Penny
