Going to be seeing a new doctor and plan on looking into alot of things

especially the new braces you were talking about. Thanks for your input.

My orthotist uses kevlar and graphite for that reason. Mine are

stronger and lighter. The type of plastic can make all of the

difference in the world with your AFOs. He is also able to cut them

out in the rear so they are more like metal braces and also cooler and

less sticky. His name is Wade Bader or Bader Orthotics in Tampa, He

has made me the best AFOs I have had. Plus he will make them any

color or pattern.

Some of the lightest are made from carbon fiber, the same material

used in Formula One cars and jet airplanes. Custom carbon fiber is

expensive, but if you can be fitted with an off-the-shelf AFO like

those offered by Ossur they are quite reasonable.
