Guest guest
Web site, state agency aiding disabled drivers Chicago Sun-Times, Jan 13, 2003 by Nina Padgett-Russin People with disabilities face two major hurdles when they begin driving: determining what type of vehicle best fits their needs, and paying for both the car and adaptive equipment. Beginning in February, a new General Motors Web site will help them determine their vehicle and equipment needs. And Illinois residents can utilize the state's Ready Access low-interest loan program to finance both the vehicle and adaptive equipment. General Motors' new Mobility Advisor software tool enables disabled drivers to enter information about their height and wheelchair size, as well as the nature of their disability, to determine what vehicles and adaptive equipment best fit their needs. General Motors unveiled the new program at this year's Detroit Auto Show; it will be accessible at www.gmmobility.com beginning about the first week of February. Also:put this in your browser and check it out. Could be informative. I put " hand controls " in the google search and it had quite a few to pick from http://findarticles.com/p/search?qt=hand+controls+for+disabled+drivers%2C+illino\ is+ & qf=free & qta=1 & tb=art & x=0 & y=0 Good luck to you all with this subject.
