Guest guest
I have been taking Lexapro for the last 4 months to control neuropathic pain. My neurologist prescribed Cymbalta but it made me very dizzy. I advised him of the problem, but it true neurologist's form, he didn't give a s*** about anything other than my nerve conduction rates and didn't care to prescribe anything else. Somehow in the midst of some Grand Mal seizure of compassion, he referred me to a Rehabilitation doctor. She gives a s*** only about how I function in everyday tasks. She prescribed Lexapro. I came to her with 20-30 neuropathic pain spasms per day. After taking the Lexapro I have about 2 per MONTH!! All antidepressant drugs work by raising the serotonin level in my brain. Serotonin is made during Level 4 sleep. As we age, Level 4 sleep decreases, As it decreases the serotonin level decreases. The only side effect I have with Lexapro is, ummm, errr, ooohh, diarrhea! I take 2 mg of liquid Immodium every other day and all is well. So, try antidepressants if offered, and most important, GO TO A REHAB SPECIALIST!!! She/he cares about your life, not your disease. --Larry
