Guest guest
Today about 2 pm, I was working in my front yard trimming the neighbor's tree branches that were hanging over on my walkways. After I got the branches down and cleared I had to sweep the walkways for leaves, dust, etc. I noticed my gas meter had leaves on it, so I tried to sweep them away, but ended up using my hands (was wearing gloves), and so I was quite close to the meter. I smelled gas, then I saw a crack in one of the pipes. Listened for a 'hissing sound' but didn't hear one. Came inside to call the Gas Company, about 2:30. Got through in 2 seconds to report the leak. The woman who took my calll assured me someone would be at my place before 8 pm to check it out. 1/2 hour went by, then my doorbell rang and 3. It was the Gas Company serviceman. I explained the problem and we both went to look at the meter, I showed him the crack I noticed and he showed me exactly where 2 gas leaks were. I thanked him and the Gas Company for being so responsive and efficient. Plus there was no charge, since it is the meter outside. The meter was fixed and now there is no leak, and no leaves around it either! It just made my day to know that " Efficiency " and customer service is still a mark of good business. (How wonderful living would be if all businesses, companies, organizations, and governmental agencies could be this efficient!) Just wanted to share something good and pleasant from life today. ~ Gretchen
