Guest guest Posted November 25, 2008 Report Share Posted November 25, 2008 Hi all You would think that living in Los Angeles I would have no problem finding service to help my son. I need help!! My son is 6 years old and in 1st grade public school general ed. He has attended the emotional distrubed program through the school district and regressed to the point that I had to take him out, with a note from his psychiatrist, and have him home hospitaled for 6 months to stablize him. He then attended the mild/moderate special day class and could not relate to why most of his classmates were non verbal. So that leaves general ed were he dose not fit in either. He is dx with ADHD ODD but I know that he is aspergers and I am trying to contact the local regional center for a proper dx for the past month with no phone call back. He is slipping away quickly due to the stress and constant failure. I believe in all of the bio med interventions and am waiting for the pfeiffer treatment center results to start a new intervention. We do have an attorney to fight the school but that is not going well either. I guess I am at my wits end and just need some advice on what to do next. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. If you know of an appropriate school or an appropriate doctor or any program for social skills, anything informatino I would appreciate.
