Guest guest
Hi Leena and , , thanks so much for the info. I also now have this link for a bio on Dr. , with her mail address and email contact, for you Leena. http://www.rch.org.au/neurology/staff.cfm?doc_id=10959 I also added another article to our Files about this Trial; I was especially interested to discover that the dose of " C " will be 22 to 44 times the regular daily intake that is recommended by the American Food and Nutrition Board of Medicine. 60 children will participate divided in 2 equal groups of 30 each, with one group given DAILY oral dose of " C " and the other group given a placebo. At the beginning and end of the trial, children will be tested for nerve function; foot and ankle muscle strength; gross/fine motot co- ordination; quality of life; and running speed and endurance. You can read more about this in our Files section, click on Ascorbic Acid and then click on the Australian Vit C Trials pdf - there's a photo of Dr. with colleagues there too. Also an interesting statement about kids with CMT between 5 and 10 when CMT progresses rapidly - according to Dr. Burns, which is why this trial is focused on younger children. ~ Gretchen
