Guest guest
I don't know if you should fill it or not but try looking up a natural dentist in the yellow pages who will put a mercury free filling in if you choose to go that route. And if your dentist is a regular dentist and tries to tell you there is no mercury in his fillings he is lying. My aunts dentist told her this. So he is basically a liar and she is naive enough to believe him because he claims to be a " christian " . He claims there is no mercury in dental fillings. He is a horrible dentist. I went once for a filling and asked for the white ones and they gave me a silver one and when I questioned about it they said " oh it will turn white!! " I was only about 14 at the time:( Marcella >From: Carol Monzillo <monzillo@...> >Reply- > >Subject: five year olds cavity >Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2002 07:23:36 -0500 > > > My five year old son has a cavity. Personally, I would not allow any mercury amalgam fillings (what they euphemistically call silver) to be put in my child's teeth, but shamefully that is still the standard procedure, and most dentists will push for it. Some people also react badly to the white composite fillings, which is the next most common thing, but there are other alternatives if that's the case. I've heard of a blood test that can help determine which material is most biologically compatible for a person, but I'm afraid I don't have details there. I think I heard about it in connection with an orgainization called DAMS (something to do with lobbying against dental mercury use), maybe try a web search for that. Standard dentists usually toe the line and say amalgam fillings are totally safe, but I believe that to be a massive lie. Seek out a mercury-free, holistic and/or biologic dentist. Here's a start: http://www.talkinternational.com/mfdsindex3.htm http://www.holisticdental.org/ As for whether the cavity should be filled or not, I think it depends on the size, location, how much longer he'll have that baby tooth, and whether it's in danger of abscessing or causing pain. Good luck. It's hard to know what to do, I know. Aubin __________________________________________________
