Guest guest
Yeh My right knee always gives out. Normally when it does, I dislocate it and then it swells up. It's been doing it for years but now I get panic attacks in fear of it happening again. I've never tried braces though. Best regards,

Guest guest
I have a knee brace but never need to use it. As soon as my knee hurts I go and have my lower hips adjusted at the chiropractor and that realigns my knees. I do not let anyone adjust my knees. Just to make that clear. He adjusts each hip one at a time while I lay on my side.
Guest guest
Nina, I have tried them in the past but have found that conventional knee braces with the hole in the middle did not help much. I only dislocate them occasionally. My right knee is really bad from an old injury in combination with the weak muscles of CMT. I have been told that I need a surgery to move the tendon over to prevent dislocation.
Guest guest
Yep, I've worn long-leg metal braces for 33 years now, and they're great .... well, better than having my knees buckle and falling. There are some newer styles, but I like the old style. And, they all fit under pants, unless you're wearing tight-fitting pants. This is not exactly a 'knee support' as known, but they accomplish the same, and more.
Guest guest
Hi all, I have tried and worn knee braces, unfort now I have to have the knee fused due to the weakness but more so the pain. Jill
Guest guest
I started wearing the full length braces in Jan - had to take a hiatus when I had my nerve biopsy,it got infected 2x. I don't want any more surgeries!!! I like the braces for stability, they really do make all of the difference. I have tried to style them up a bit, wearing looser jeans and a nice top but they tend to make me look like a moose either way LOL. It'sa small price to pay to stay upright I guess! Guest guest
I have worn full leg braces too. They do help with your knees. I had the metal ones that I think are more comfortable and not as hot as the plastic ones. I think the full leg braces would be a better solution than knee braces and AFOs. It looks like the AFOs and knee braces would overlap each other and could cause problems. The full leg braces do give alot more support that comes in handy with CMT sometimes.
