Guest guest
Hi Defman, While I don't have CMT (my daughter does), I had to stop using a regular mouse because my arm and shoulder would hurt so bad especially after a day of heavy mousing. (I work as a computer systems specialist.) I went to a trackball type of mouse where you do all the scrolling with a finger and the buttons are on each side. This has made all the difference. Since these can be purchased for under $30, it might be worth a try for you. Good luck,
Guest guest
Hi Defman, If you have a Goodwill Outlet near you they will have a box of old mouseses you will probably be able to pick up a few microsoft and two button logitec for a few bucks. 3 button mouse software should allow you to disable the middle button then set your CAD options for a 2 button mouse. Guest guest
Yes, I've tried the trackball. Unfortunatly I have lost 85% of the muscle that controls my thumb action. This is the muscle between your thumb and forefinger that allows you to make the " ok " symbol. as well as the muscle on top. basicly that area is like a web to me. Therefore, thumb commands are near impossible (Nintendo has never been my friend, ha.) Defman
Guest guest
Have you tried shifting hands? My husband was having such trouble using the mouse right handed that he shifted to his left hand, which is also affected. We currently have a 4 button track ball and most of the clicking is with the left fingers, and this also worked well with the regular left-handed mouse. I don't have CMT like him, but I have arthritis in the thumb wrist joint; it took me a while to get used to the left-handed mouse, but now I much prefer it because it frees up my right hand to do other things like write and answer the phone and I use my thumb less. Guest guest
Defman- Areyour fingers better on one hand than the other? I'm right handed but the fingers aren't good at all. So I use a tracking ball on my left side. Works great for me. Hope this could help some. Barb
