Guest guest
Hi Defman, I am pretty sure that you can program the roller or middle button to do a variety of functions. When I got my new mouse, I remember that the zoom was set as the default, but my computer person went into the control panel and set it to do another function. I have gotten used to using my laptop without a mouse now, so I can't even remember what it was, but it seemed there was a list of about 10 different functions to choose from and I am sure that you could find one that wasn't as annoying as the zoom. Guest guest
Thanks Maureen, Yes you can program a mouse scroller to do a variey of fuctions, unfortunatly, when you are in the CAD program, it reverts back. We did figure out how to change it however, but it has to be some form of command. The closest we can get is not having a command (sounds fine, eh?) no. Now it just cancels out of the command that I am using. Defman
Guest guest
I use microsoft intellipoint mice. If you install the software that comes with the mouse, you should see a mouse shortcut on your desktop or in the list of programs. Open that and it will show a mouse properties dialog box. The buttons tab will give you the option of configuring the buttons and the wheel. I had a similar problem and I just set the wheel to " disabled. " (No pun intended, but an interesting coincidence....) Dana
Guest guest
Hi Defman - I am certain that if I look in my computer left overs box (and I probably am not the only one here who has one) I could find one or two mouses, mice, meese LOL - that are the kind without the middle scroller roller. Would be happy to send if you'd like. Let me know and I'll go dig out the box.
Guest guest
Well thank you phantom, I never thought of that. thank you for the kind gesture, but I've found out that new mousses that I HAVE found don't take the abuse I put them through (I go through about 1 every 8 months). I think this is one of the planned obsolesence conspiricies top items that we don't think about...HA! What you offered did make me laugh though. I can just imagine my wife's face if we start getting used mice from around the globe. Now THAT'S funny. Or is it? Defman
