Guest guest
Welcome Donnie and thanks for introducing yourself. I am the only one with CMT in my family also - as far back in genealogy as I went was the 1700s. If you read the abstracts on CMT and Primate research in our Files, you'll understand that CMT has been with the 'human family' and has 'evolved' through 6-7 million years. CMT is NOT one of the " muscular dystrophies " - it is one of the 40+ neuromuscular disorders that come under the MDA's " umbrella " of programs. CMT is a disorder of 'atrophy', 'not dystrophy'. There is good information on this in our Files also. ~ Gretchen
