Guest guest
, I'm so sorry...I've been there too...years a go and can still remember how bad the school kids were to me. How I wished my mother would have let me have home schooling.Sometimes the teachers were just as bad as the kids turning a blind eye.I shudder thinking of how I hated school..I would get sick as I saw the school bus way down the road...the ride that would take to another horrible day...I quit school and it was the best day of my life!..I'm 65 and still remember. Guest guest
, I am so sorry that Spencer has to deal with something so awful. We have dealt with the same issue here. We have found a wonderful way to deal with it however. My daughter who is now in the 11th grade was picked on so badly that she did not want to do anything at all outside the protection of home. This year she is in every club, on the golf team and one of the most popular kids in school. She got so tired of being teased and questioned about what was wrong with her that she asked for time on the schools morning show... I still can not believe my shy child did something so brave but it changed her completely... she went on the show and told the whole school about CMT, what it is like to live with it, about the pain she lives with and how terrifying it is to be different. She tells me it was the single hardest thing she has ever done but is thankful everyday that she did it. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive from everyone in school. After the show, kids asked her intelligent question and voiced concerns about what they could do to help her. Anyone now that would dare pick on her would face most of the student body of her school before they would allow her to be hurt again. My daughter said to let Spencer know she is more then willing to talk to him about effective ways of dealing with people like his old friends, if he would like. Let me know and I will send her email address for him. Lissa
