Guest guest
I try wiggling my toes and nothing happens. The big one moves and that's about it. Sounds like a good thing to be able to wiggle your toes, Ed. I say keep on doing it. When I had my foot surgery, the nurses kept coming by and wiggling my toes, asking if I could feel them. Of course I said no, and then added that I couldn't before surgery either. They would ask why and I'd tell them I have neuropathy. Then they'd ask if I was diabetic, I'd tell them I have Charcot-Marie-Tooth and they'd say " What's that? " . I finally had them print out some info on CMT and post it in the nurses station. Guest guest
Eddie, No. I wiggle my toes when I want. If your random wiggling and finger movements are bothersome, it may be from too much electrical activity getting to the peripheral nerves. Talk to your doctor about this - perhaps a medication may be helpful. ~ Gretchen

Guest guest
Hi Eddie, Although I do not do the wiggle thing, I have had a habit of constantly moving my right foot (mainly). Sometimes I notice I am doing it and I drive myself nuts! It is a new acquired habit that I cannot seem to stop. It is almost like I " have " to do it. It is hard to sleep sometimes because of the movement. I can seem to control it when I am around others, but at home, look out! It goes a mile a minute!! I have noticed that the more I do it the less the foot falls asleep. Teri, PA
Guest guest
Hey, Just had a chuckle. I also can not wiggle my toes. I THINK I can sort of move the big toes IF I really concentrate. I have bi-lateral neuropathy and I can not tell you how many times I have been asked by medical personel if I have diabetes. No one knows what CMT is! Amazingly, I have run into two people, in the last year, who know of someone with CMT so -- there are some people out there who have heard of it, but it is up to us to educate those we meet!
