Guest guest
What about Mindlinx probiotic? I know Heidi has had good success with it. Anyone take it and seen the beneficial bacteria actually increase on the cdsa? Guest guest
Limin, we did the stool Microbiology test from Genova and though it was clean I suspect my son has candida. I have put him on a candida balance product I bought off iherb.com with probiotics and lactoferrin and he peed a lot after that for a few days so maybe he did drop something. Since he is on natural anti-fungals I presumed that was why the test did not pick it up. Anyway, Dr. Bock put my son on Lactobacillus from Allergy Research Group, 1 capsule per day (I am already doing Acidopholous from Kirkman 3 x a day) and now for the first time in several months the bumps on his upper arms which had travelled down past his elbow and up his shoulder blades are disappearing. I have never seen a product work such wonders, well since the B-12 shots. I am amazed. In case anyone is looking for a probiotic you should try this one. I am unsure about the clostridia. Will look into that as well. Can you have both candida and clostridia? Guest guest
Gayatri: I am pretty sure we can have a million infections at the same time, unfortunately. I think that bacteria wear our immune system out, so that it can not fight off the viruses and yeast. You can kill the yeast, but keeping it away will only happen upon building up the immune system. Thus, I think having Clostridia encourages yeast, and when you kill the clostridia, probably you will even get more yeast for a time. Isn't this journey fun? Actually Clostridia is similar to yeast, in that both are opportunistic infections. In that, we always have Clostridia and yeast in us, but they only over-grow to infectious amounts when our immune system is worn-out. Thus, its all about decreasing our pathogens and toxins in general to give the immune system a hand. Once those loads are down, hopefully the immune system can take over without all this help we are giving it. That's the goal. Anyone want to race? (sorry, I have been feeling a weird humour lately). Heidi N I am unsure about the clostridia. Will look into that as well. Can you have both candida and clostridia? Gayatri
Guest guest
Gayatri, I don't think that it is uncommon for the children in the spectrum to be troubled by both yeast overgrowth and Clostridia infections. Two years ago my son's CSA showed Candida albanica, and at the same time DHPPA was extremely high (indication of Clostridia) on his MAP. Lactobacillus plantarum/ rhamnosus/ salivarius made by Allergy Research Groups was the probiotics product that helped us to lower DHPPA. If you google "Lactobacillus plantarum Clostridium", you will find several studies suggesting the effectiveness of L. plantarum on Clostridia infections. There are few things that I do not like about VSL#3. It contains Streptococcus thermophilus, which Dr. Usman usually does not recommend to the children who have Strep infections, because S. thermophilus will aggravate them. Very few children in the recovering road can be truly clear of Strep. Prevnar vaccine (Pneumococcal Conjugate) alone contains 7 strains of Streptococcus serotypes. Secondly, I do not like broad-spectrum probiotics in high potency. Sometime ago there was a parent post in "chelatingkids2" mentioning her DAN said to avoid Bifidobacterium strains as they would kill other probiotics. Although this sounded very odd, I think her DAN probably meant that different strains of probiotics in a broad-spectrum product would compete to map territories in the gut, as a result many would fail to implant or populate in the gut. I generally think that rotation of several brands of probiotic products that contain a fewer strains in high-potency/ concentration might be a better strategy. Guest guest
Hi Limin: A year ago we did a month's worth of much needed Vancomycin and saw substantial improvements. The MAP was heavy on bad bacteria. I do think we killed off some clostridia and bad bugs in the process at that time. We also recently began Advanced Biocidin and there was the expected phenolic reaction - face was red and swollen. I backed down on the dose and skipped it yesterday but we did see some loose bad smelling stools. That thing does pack a punch, its potent. About once a year we need to get the heavy hitters in to control the situation. If we can avoid reaching that point it would help. What does your probiotic rotation look like and can you share the brands you are using? There might be something in the terrain that lets the bifidobacterium strains outlive the other strains and take over. We have plenty of it compared to the others. Thanks Gayatri > > > > > > > > > > Sal, i'm new to this world to due to all the inaccurate testing > > > > etc....but it looks like WE ALL GOT IT too. At labcorp, the > > > > plebologist introduced me to ...has been a homerun for this mom! > > > > I have ALL her labs (she's got the PILE--Shaller runs everything) > > > > including her Fry labs and Babesia in particular hides really > well in > > > > the red blood cells. She takes Ketek to pull it out and cumanda to > > > > kill it....she's done a pile of these labs and the counts have been > > > > all over the place. She sees Shaller in FL. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > The funniest thing (or i thought it was funny) is she showed up at > > > > my door 20 minutes after chatting with on the phone at labcorp--10 > > > > minutes after that she'd dropped her pants...within 30 seconds we > > > > were both comparing batonella veins, warts, moles....yuck. Anyway, > > > > Shaller just released a new Bartonella book...can't wait to get it > > > > tomorrow...color version will be out in 2 weeks if i'm not > mistaken--- > > > > color might be the ticket as he's loaded the book with pictures. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > What a mess this all is....thank god we have the internet and > > > > groups like this to sort through the wreckage....when i think of all > > > > the tests that my little fella and i have been through to rule out > > > > other fancy dx's it makes me MAD...one doc even suggested that i > give > > > > my older fella (who's had yet another crummy test---how many crappy > > > > tests do they use for lymes?) another pneummacoccal vaccination---at > > > > that point i ran from every doc in network forever (except the GI-- > > > > he's starting to get it....) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > where do you live and who do you see? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > lisa > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
