Guest guest
Hi girls!!! Today I have a question. Yesterday I was very sad because I had so much pain, this terrible pain without any cause, that begins slow but grow and grow until it's maximal point and after diminished. Every one has a short duration but happens one and other and other and other... During that I cann't do nothing, I don´t move, don´t speak, don´t eat. I would like to scream but that only produce more paín. And after that I feel very tired and weak and in consecuence sad. I had to take Ibuprofen 800 mg for reduce it. This pain is more intense and more frequent during my menstrual period. How can I control and prevent that because it's so dificult for me? When I feel in that form I think, like Ruth wrote yesterday, my own body is my enemy, however in war and in love all is posible, and I´m ready for every new battle. I wish to win this, too. Guest guest
I have the same problem when it come to my visit from " aunt flow " . Although I never associated it with my CMT. I also understand the constant waves of pain. Sometimes they're more frequent but short in duration and other times they are long and drawn out. The pain level is usually either tollerable or excrutiating. I also take Motrin for it but until the pain subsides all I can do is curl up into a ball and pray relief comes fast. But I also have been diagnosed with PMDD (Pre Menstral Disphoric Disorder) which is severe PMS and equally sever mood swings. I was wondering if this could be related to CMT or maybe just a hormone inbalance. My doctors think it's from a simple hormone inbalance but they can't be too sure because they themselves don't know a lot about CMT. I also sometimes get these episodes where my whole body hurts so bad and it feels like all of my skin is on fire. It hurts to move but it hurts even more to have someone touch me in even the lightest way. My own clothes hurt me as they brush up against my skin as I move. Nothing I have ever taken so far has aleiviated this condition. These episodes could last anywhere from an hour to a few days. No one has yet been able to explain this to me. I am just wondering if there's anyone else out there who can empathise with me. I also will get bouts of severe excrutiating back pain that has lasted at times up to a week or longer. Motrin and Tylonel rapid release help but I take them very frequently to keep control of the pain. I know I have a small curvature in my lower spine due to scoliosis, (which thankfully stopped on it's own,) but I was wondering if this could be atributed to my CMT also. Or if maybe it's just from sitting and doing to much from my wheelchair. Your thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, Jane
Guest guest
Hi , I too get more symptoms around and during that lovely time! But I honestly cannot categorize it as pain. It is more a deep ache that is maddening. It goes from both of my hips down my legs. This past Sunday I had so much aching I could of cried. When I would walk it felt like both of my hips were out. I kept pushing myself to walk a lot cause even though it hurt I felt like I " had " to keep moving. Like I could not tell myself not to. Like an urge that cannot be ignored. I do not know if it was just the CMT cause I have chronic lyme and bursitis too. Maybe a combination of both. I am so sorry for the pain that you are going through. I have not had it that bad and I pray to God that I never do. You seem to be very positive and that is great! I only wish you the best and hopefully some pain free days! Guest guest
I have not fallen off the face of the earth, I have just had a lot to deal with. My CMT gets worse with my period. The cramp pain is more intense but I an thankful that it doees not get much farther than my upper body. It gets bad enough that sometimes I feel like I am back in Labor with my second child. I had back labor, and the pain went down my anus. OUUUUUUCH! I take an OTC pain killer for it and it goes away pretty quickly. My legs react to the hormone changes and they act up. I try to get as much done as my body will allow the day before because I know that I can't do much the first day.
Guest guest
I totally understand where you are coming from. I have the same problem when it comes to " that time of the month " . My stomach cramps get so bad that I swear my insides are being ripped apart. It feels exactly the same as when I was in labor with my daughter born 8-13-04! That also brings to mind another question. While I was in labor with my daughter the doctors were worried about letting me have a natural delivery. They talked me into having a cesarian and it turned out to be the worst thing I could have agreed to. The spinal block they gave me didnt work as well as it should have and I felt them cut me open. I screamed and cried the whole time it took them 30 minutes to get her out because it was so painful for me. I have noticed also that when the dentists do work on my mouth that they usually have to give me 2-3 shots before I am numbed enough to do any work. Are these two things related to my CMT? Are there any others out there with CMT who have had similar experiences? Thanks, Jane
Guest guest
I am glad to ead about symptoms like this. It has taken me a long time to realize WHY I feel sooo very tired with NO energy. Usually right aaround 3-4 days before my period. It just seems to wipe me out. If I did a better job of tracking, I would be able to anticipate and conserve some energy. Menopause seems a positive some days!
