Guest guest
What's your take on this? Sort of like a circle, but is it possible that due to our weakened systems, we would experience greater residual damage from environmental factors, thus making our CMT worse? I don't know, .... just wondering out loud. http://www.news-medical.net/?id=30014
Guest guest
Hi Auggie, I have often wondered about many toxins in our environment, air, etc. One reason I moved out of LA was so I could breathe cleaner air. Not only that, but have cleaner air on my skin, etc. Yes, we with CMT do need to care about things like this. I'm not sure how the DNA info mentioned would help CMT, but who knows, maybe scientists will find a 'mutant' somewhere that is also affected by smoke, smog, or something else. Good find, good question! Thanks so much! ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Interesting idea. I have <semi-consciously> felt that my particular exposures to waste anesthesia gases, various aldehydes, other (legal) inhalants, aromatic cleaning solutions, heavy metals, radiation, insectisides, (probable) herbicides, etc., might be a factor in my disease. I mean, I am the only one of 7 siblings to have any physical manifestations and the extended family is normal (well, normal for negative CMT). Of course, I guess I could be a new mutation.
