Guest guest
Hi Liz, You bet we can! Loved your post - made my day! Trying new things is how we learn. It is such a pleasure to hear from you. I think you were 14 or 15 when you joined , and I'm so happy to have shared these years with you. I hope G school is going well, also the wedding plans! ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Thanks Gretchen. I just believe that despite all the negative aspects of having this disease (and I do know all of them and there are plenty of times when it gets me down), that we can also find a way to make it positive and become advocates for ourselves and CMT. There are a lot of people out there that hold terrible stereotypes about people with diseases. They believe that we're lazy and can't do anything. Sometimes they even believe that it affects our mental capacity. Part of my job is to prove them wrong. And yes, it's not always fair because we already have to work twice as hard to get stuff done and then we have to work even harder above and beyond that to prove the ignorant people wrong. It's a lot of work, but it's all worth it to me to hear " well I never thought you could do this, but you proved me wrong. " I just think going out with a positive attitude helps things. The wedding planning is going along, slowly. We're going to get married in September of 08 though, so there's plenty of time. If anyone has a good recommendation of where to get married in the NH/MA/VT/ME area, let me know! Graduate school is going well too. I start up again next week. Guest guest
Hi Liz, Congrats on all of the good news. I got married in NH at a place called cathedral in the pines. It was rustic and beautiful. All of our guests stayed at the woodbound in in Rindge NH. It was rustic and sort of an old-timey retreat. The inn is on a lake and you can stay in the inn or a private cottage. We stayed in a cottage - it was beautiful. Chris
