I'm not sure where you are but my orthotist, Wade Bader, in Tampa makes his so most of the back is cut out. He makes them a lot like the traditional metal braces. That helps a lot. He would work with your local orthotist on a wholesale basis to make some for you if you are too far away to use him. His website is readypreg.com go there and go to central fab and you will see some examples of his AFOs. I bet you would like them. I used to sweat like you are till I got some from Wade. I live in Minnesota..They drilled holes in them but they were drilled from the outside to the inside..now I have pieces of plastic that pokes into my skin through my socks...ended up with a huge rash and sores ..I healed up AGAIN so I will be going back to Hanger soon.
