Guest guest
All I can say is, it's about time. We have these 'red-light' cameras going up everywhere, ostensively to 'save lives', though when you press officials for written documentation, it all boils down to money. Lots of money. So, I've always thought they should rip out those red-light cameras, and put them to monitor handicap spaces. And make lots of money. And, perform a more noble deed. A lot of this would have already been remedied, if the ADA had enforcement provisions.
Guest guest
Auggie, I hear you. Here in California I think I just saw that abuse of a placard is a $5,000 fine! ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
I am not sure how the authorities can keep up with all this. If you can walk, you don't need it? Shame on me: I got a little aggravated one day, when a lady I sort of knew by sight, pulled into the parking space and went into the store. She came back about the same time I did, and I just could not " SEE " anything that qualified her for a card. Less than months later she passed away. Her condition was hidden. I just had not heard she had been ill. She had needed a heart transplant. Apparently she qualified for the card because of this-----and the fact that she had difficulty breathing for any distance at all. I cannot get a card yet, but I could use one. Any exertion and I have to stop to breath. I surely don't know the answer for you that are more challenged than I in the walking department.
