Guest guest
Hi New Friends, My name is Ron Troutman, I live in LA, I am in a scooter, I'm 58 and CMT appeared when I was four. Even though it is no " piece of cake " negotiating life with weak arms and legs, I've always been optimistic. Sometimes this fact even surprises me. I've always gravitated to seing things from a broader point of view. I've never felt guilty or asked " why me? " . Somewhere in the journey, I figured out that everything is fuel for some greater understanding. So much of my sanity and peace have come from affirming/ knowing that I am more than this; who I really am is more than the disability -- my real identity is a mansion with many rooms and not just one! From this sense of self-worthiness, I started creating little pewter puzzle-shaped affirmative tokens with I AM one one side and and affirmative word on the other. I AM LOVED, UNSTOPPABLE, COURAGEOUS...and more. I started this company, The Good Cheer Company, and have begun to be quite successful in selling these affirmative tokens. These tokens were featured in the MDA Quest Magazine a few months go and I had wonderfully long conversations with like-minded individuals who were encouraged by what I was doing and how I was rising above my disability. The name of my company refers to this CD that I created called CHEERS TO YOU! -- which is words of encouragement and praise while 30,000 people are applauding and cheering you. I sent it to Ellen Degeneres and she featured it twice on her show. I didn't know Ellen personally, just sent it in, and wow she liked it. Wherever that elusive map was, I was suddenly on it. (I've been cheering Ellen ever since.) My whole life has been discovering who I really am, that the " I am " that I am is so much more than CMT. Everything I do, everything I create (the affirmative puzzle jewelry, the cheering CD) -- everything I am -- is about the touching of that broader perspective. Peace and blessings to all of us, Ron Troutman The Good Cheer Company (When you have a moment visit www.thegoodcheercompany.com and you can listen to samples of some of the CHEERS TO YOU! tracks.)
