Guest guest
Geri, Are you taking this for your heart or cholesterol under the guidance of a doctor? I am asking this because there might be tryptophan in this stuff, and back in the 1980s or so tryptophan supplements were the rage (can't remember why) but many people developed severe muscle cramping and other neurological problems. Check too to see if Vit. B6 is somehow mixed into the supplement - we know B6 is not good for CMT. On the other hand I am guessing here, but you may be allergic to some of the plant ingredients. If you have heart or cholesterol problems I hope you get to a doctor who specializes and can get you on track. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Yes it is under a guidance of a doctor ..and he has a very good reputation supposed to be one of the top doctors in Minnesota. But as it goes ...how much does he know about CMT???...sent him tons of stuff and web sites that you and the group sent me..mailed it yesterday. Noticed one of the supplements he gave me had way to much vit.B At least this doctor seems willing to learn....we will see ..all the others I have been to didn't care about knowing anything about CMT ..just pushing pills that CMTers are not supposed to have...and wouldn't lesson..I will pass your email on to him if you don't mind...I'm taking to the supplements for Diabetes and High Blood Pressure......Need all the help I can get from you guys!..As I'm very sensitive to everything and have adverse reacations to so many meds and supplements. Thanks Geri
Guest guest
Well now what? Guess I have to eat my words about this new doctor!! Thought he was will to learn about CMT...Sent him a paper published from Dr. and he disagrees with him about Vit. B..and said to keep taking what he has prescribed...he also told me to take GlucoNase and I had stopped taking that as I think that has to much B in it...he says no. Gees I'm so depressed I don't know what to do now!!! Does any one knows of a doctor around Little Falls..or St Cloud that know about CMT...these docs are killing me! Guest guest
Hi Geri, Oh this is odd. By any chance does this doc have a financial interest in the products/supplements he has told you to take? Doctors disagree all the time, but you know this doc of yours * could * call up Dr. Parry (since they are both in your state) and they could discuss the Vitamin B " issue " and CMT. If you don't mind me asking, are you taking the Gluconase for diabetes? I need some time, but perhaps I can find a doc for you. Not too familiar with your state, lol, except Mayo, but it might be worth your while to go see Dr. Parry for an appointment - before the snow starts and all. Let me think on this and see if I can find someone closer to you too. Are you looking for a regular Internist/GP doc or a Neurologist? ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Gretchen, I don't know but the supplements are sold at the office. Gave the doctor an paper explaining CMT and Vit.B...with his phone no! Yes to diabetes and Gluconase. Mayo is a long way from me...Dr. Parry is three hours away..that would be to bad and it is very hard to get there! BUT I think he only handles CMT right now the other things that are wrong...Diabetes and High Blood pressure! Went to Duluth MDA not to long ago and they didn't do very much of anything! Thought this Doctor acted like he was just sure of himself but I think he is arrogant. Thanks, Geri

Guest guest
Hi Geri, It seems to me that since these supplements are " sold " at your doc's office that he does have a financial interest in them. This and his arrogancy would have me out of there in no time. I hope you can find one of the docs in St. Cloud or even get to see Dr. Parry. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Gretchen, I agree with you...I was shocked and didn't like it when he disagreed with Dr. Parry....I know Dr. Parry is one of the best! I think the world of him...and guess what my shoulders are feeling better like they not as frozen! The GlucoNase has 8.2 mg of B-6...and I was taking four a day..Too much right? Thought I was going to die I hurt so bad....hard to tell what the others had in them perhaps some hidden B-6 like you said or something that my system couldn't handle. Thank for you. Guest guest
Hi again Geri, When I did the math, it seems your doc had you taking a Total of 32.8 mg of B6 everyday. Dr. Parry has advised those of us with CMT that under no circumstances should we take more than 20 mg daily and he prefers persons with CMT take no more than 10 mg daily. He said that 8 mg daily is certainly safe. (that would be about ONE of those supplements a day, not four!) Hope you are feeling better. ~ Gretchen
