Guest guest
I work out at home and have for years. I didn't have the " gym " gene, I guess. I don't follow the BFL workouts to a T though. I alternate cardio days w/ strength days and I do mostly The Firm, Kick Butt and Gay Gaspar DVDs. I also have Kathy Lift Weights to Lose Weight 1 and 2. I probably alternate around 15 DVDs. I have free weights, a mat, a stability ball, a medicine ball and exercise bands. We also have an elliptical, a stationary bike and a Solo Flex although I dont use the Solo Flex much, my husband does. We also mounted a TV and DVD Player on the wall in our " gym " . I love working out at home because I know that I won't go to the gym in the morning before work, but I do workout in the mornings at home. That said, I've always heard that if you like going to the gym and you on't think you'll be a good home worker outer then you should stick to what you like. They both have advantages > > Our gym closed this week and am wondering if anyone is just doing > exercises at home and how successful is it being? Guest guest
HI PJ, I have only done my stuff at home and am still doing it. I started out with a Bowflex and then bought some free weights. My preference is for the free wieghts but I like the leg workout on the Bowflex. YOu can see my before and after pics for the 12 weeks at http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/searchprofile.cfm?id=15547 You can do it too! Guest guest
Yes- I only exercise at home. We have a treadmill and free weights (dumbbells, barbell), and a Bowflex. I mostly use the free weights, though. I feel like I've been very successful this way. I do miss the outside influences that come from working out in the gym- seeing others progress, getting and giving positive feedback, etc. But, I don't lose any travel time and I have NO EXECUSES for skipping a workout! Best of luck to you. Annie > > Our gym closed this week and am wondering if anyone is just doing > exercises at home and how successful is it being? Guest guest
I get a fine UBWO and HIIT at home (dumbells and ex. bike), but LBWO I prefer on the machines... But I hate squats and lunges on my knees and feet. With squats and lunges, free weights of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 is what I have From: " psdolls " Onize@... Our gym closed this week and am wondering if anyone is just doing exercises at home and how successful is it being? Thanks! -PJ - Etana
Guest guest
Geri, As I was recovering from surgery, my home PT had me sit in a chair and lift soup cans above my head and do many reps with specific breathing exercises. She also had me lie on the floor, flat, start ab work in sit ups, also legs at about a 45 degree angle to ride an 'air bike' (backwards and forwards) There are alot of videos and CDs out on Yoga and Pilates available at most libraries. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Thanks Gretchen...if I were on the floor I would never be able to get up..I look like a turtle that is on it's back...LOL. Guess I will do the soup can thing though...for my arms. Congratulations to you by the way.... Geri
