Modifilan deal? Sodium Alginate powder for $42. lb or $12 for 3oz

So if you remember we were discussing the benefits of Modifilan which

is brown algea but also I was bemoaning the high cost of it. Tell me,

the sodium alginate for $42 a lb for the food grade brown algea

powder, which if I capped it myself for a family of 8 would probably

more than treat us all for our entire two years for the cost of one

bottle of Modifilan. So, what do you think? Same stuff?
