Guest guest
I'm new to wearing AFOs. I work as a Respiratory Therapist. I'm on my feet sometimes my entire shift (12 hours). My Neurologist that ordered them said I still have a lot of strength, but since I complained of fatigue in my lower legs she wanted me to wear them while at work. I work only 3 days in a row. I usually get 4 days off. My question is " will wearing my AFOs cause more weakness or will it help my legs/feet rest? " I can only stand them about 3-4 hours. So I have to bring them in a bag and put them on and take them off while at work. I am suppose to wear them the entire time I'm at work. I haven't mastered driving in them. Not to that point yet.
