Undecided about Surgery VS Braces

Hello Gretchen,

I hope you still remember me, I am a deaf happily married mother of

three hearing sons. We live Fla for nearly 6 and half now. Most of

doctors suspected me that I might have CMT since 2001 but recently, I took Emg

at Mayo Clinic and I passed the test. There was no abnormal of my nerves or

muscles on my leg at all. I was overjoyed and praised God daily for His

wonderous work on my body. I thanked to all people from my church for their

prayers, my families and my family as well.

I dont know what caused my feet to bend like that. The next test will be done on

my back is called NeuroSkeleton Imaging to detect any damages inside of my

spinal cord. I will wait for my new doctor to order one for me til after

examining my EMG Record first so he really needs to know for sure.

And also my last visit with my new doctor Helmy and he saw my feet and it was

definitely a club feet spastic. He wanted to know if that related to my birth

and really needed my oldest medical records from NYC. I did everything what

Doctor wants me to get the information for the next appt on Sept 18th.

So I wasn't on the this group for a long time because I might not have CMT

but something else than that but I am back on this support group, Hoorray ! I am

still wondering what disease would I have this time.

So Anyway, My doctor told me that he disaggreed with me about

continue wearing my left brace and will get the best braces from

Nevada. He wanted me to have my legs to be fixed and able to walk but will cause

my feet to be stiff for the rest of my life.

He lets me to think about that option. I am still thinking and thinking about it

or get the best braces for me. I am still undeciding about the options I need to

make sooner before seeing him again on Sept 18th. I am also still waiting for

the Lord to answer to my prayer. I must trust him with all my heart! He can heal

me the whole during the surgery , who knows. So I am a little scared about the

surgeries.

I know some of CMT went thru the surgeries but are they happy with

their results?

I need your support and encouragement of words to help me to make the right

decisions.
