Newly diagnosed

I'm writing for my husband . We got the news 2 weeks ago that he

has CMT2. We have so many questions and are scared of not knowing how

fast it progresses. He got a package from MS and I opened the

information. It scared me to see all the lifts, wheelchairs etc. Yes he will

probably need them in the future but its hard to talk about it

now. I do have questions I hope someone can answer.

said his knees are hurting early in the morning when it is still cool. He

has been fitted with braces that he will get next week. My questions are...Will

the braces help this? They are the type with a velcro band under his knee with a

carbon fiber rod that goes down one side of his leg to a plate on the bottom.

When they come in they will put padding to form and arch and padding on the ball

of his foot Or is it the cold weather that is affecting his knees? I hope this

is o.k. that I ask you instead of him but he's depressed to talk about it.
