Guest guest
Hi ! They sound like real shallow " friends " . I'm very honest with people, telling them what I can or cannot do. It's so much easier. I have a bunch of really close friends that would never exclude me, rather do anything to make life that bit easier for me. I cannot manage steps or stairs without help - so help I get. They know my house is always open for them and hardly a day goes by without a visit or a coffee in town. They feel so at home here, that they'll automatically make the coffees. (I would spill out half the cup, if I should wobbely serve them! LOL) I hang on to their arms wherever we go and if we are in the shopping malls, they'll find me a wheel chair and push me. If we go for a picnic, they'll help me get up from the lawn. Only yesterday, I had seven of my loving friends sat out on my patio, in the sunshine, eating strawberries and ice cream. Some of us girls go on holidays together and they'll go on the ambu-lift with me onto the plane and they know my limitations. Most of my friends have taken the time to read the little book about CMT, because they want to understand. It doesn't matter to them what I cannot do, what I CAN do is listen, show kindness and empathy and be a there for them always, as much as they are for me. I hope you find friends like mine! I feel truly blessed. Best wishes, Nina
