Guest guest
Here is my little rant on the subject .... While I believe that many - no, not all - establishments technically do meet the ADA parking requirements, they might not always be user- friendly. For exammple, some multiplex theaters. I mean, there will be a whole string of perfectly wonderful handicap parking spaces - on the far side of the theater with a grundle of walking involved. If you are in a power chair or wheelchair, that may be OK. So, you say, why not just take your chances and park closer, alongside the 'normies'? Because there isn't an access ramp from the parking lot to the sidewalk! Because the ramps are in the handicap area!
Guest guest
In addition to suing entities providing services to the public, I think we should start suing those absolutely ignoramus construction workers/companies, who build ramps at 45 degrees, paint the striped wheelchair lift section of a parking space only 18 inches wide, etc., etc.
Guest guest
I think that ANYONE that builds ANYTHING handicapped..A requirement should be that they try, ride, be in, ...a wheel chair or a handicapped car, van,or truck!!That goes for bathrooms, sidewalk ramps...you name it! Disabled or not they should be required to navigate in a Wheelchair...before they build anything!!.. " Or " have a brainless disabled person with then to show them how to make things accessable!! Being the snot nose that I am that's the way I think it should be! Geri
