Guest guest
My name is Cárdenas Jiménez, I´m 28 years old, I´m Colombian, I´m Psychologist, in this moment I´m finishing my master in Public Health and I live with CMT. At 12 years old I begin to use wheelchair after an escoliosis surgery, my movements and my force had diminished very much across the time and I had a very important hearing loss. The most important in my life had been to live the most and the better possible with the little resources that I have. Not ever it has been easy because my country yet is in the process of begining with social inclusión for people with disability, but ever I have had my family love and help, and in this three years I had have a wonderful man to my side. He is a blind anthropologist who learned to drive my wheeelchair, and together we have make an unbelieveble team in which he gives me his feet and I give him my eyes. In that form we go this year to México in an unforgetable travel, demostrating that as Frida Kahlo said " ¿for what I wa nt legs if I have wings for fly? " (¿para qué quiero piernas si tengo alas para volar?). I would like to know how people with CMT live and to learn with you how enhance my life, and if my history can help somebody it does me very happy. Sincerely yours, ANDREA CÁRDENAS JIMÉNEZ, Ps Auxiliar de Investigación Grupo Cuidado Cultural de la Salud Universidad Nacional de Colombia Teléfono 3165000 ext 18667 Cel. 316 2268611
