Guest guest
Hello all, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and actually buying and swallowing some good ol' fashioned cod liver oil. As I have never even smelled let alone tasted the stuff, I would love any suggestions on brands and/or ways to take it that will make it taste better than it sounds. Yes, I'm a bit apprehensive!!! Thanks, ps-are capsules acceptable?
Guest guest
Yes capsules are acceptable. Mercola vouches for the quality of 's who I believe is put out by twinlab. Mercola is a credible source, however as a rule of thumb I wouldn't touch a Twinlab product with a 10 foot pole. I'd assume if Mercola says he's tested it then its likely to be fine. As I don't have the testing confirmation of Mercola for the oil sold by radiant life, I am much more comfortable with the radiant life product, just knowing the efforts they put into the quality product line they carry. So the oil from them is also a possibility. If he happens to read this and can speak to the heavy metals / testing issue I'm sure everyone would appreciate it. Guest guest
Capsules are perfectly fine as long as you take enough. I have trouble swallowing too many pills, though, so I take a tablespoon of Carlson's lemon flavored cod liver oil. I get it at the Vitamin Shoppe, though not all of them stock it all the time, and though it smells like fish oil, it doesn't smell spoiled in the least and it's not hard to take. (I did get a bad bottle once, from Fairway of all places.) Carlson's also makes capsules. -
