Guest guest
Hi, all. Just had to share that turned 2 yesterday and I turn 42 tomorrow (I'm trying to forget--not really I LOVE my day--My brother gave me a "happy birthday" coffee mug a few years ago...I've been drinking out of it since the end of August...OK, so I do love my day!!!!!) LOL. Last evening was so much fun. As you all know he has been receiving loads of therapy. Last year, he was not even aware...didn't care about his cake...I have NO engaging kind of pictures of him from last year...this year, he was smiling, took a dive into his cake---was aware that grandpa was there...Granted he played with the wheels on his car throughout most of dinner---and I could tell he went inward when overloaded...but he was amazing...He even sort of "listened" when we sang happy birthday. Today his therapist came over, and as they were walking down the hallway to his room for ABA---he wanted his truck from last evening. It was still in the package...mother of the year I know --- But last year he didn't even care about his toys...actually up until about 3 months ago he didn't care...Anyhow, he was semi pointing to his truck from last night...She opened it for him and they used it as reward during therapy. Also he was pushing it in the box this morning...not obsessed with the wheels and getting it out of the box, or screaming like he normally does, but saying "Vroom" while pushing it--I think that can be considered pretend play.... He has come so far. We still have a long way to go, but I'm so grateful that my little guy was able to notice it was a special time for him Had to share. e P.S.---Ok so those of you who know how confused I get with how old is...is he 22-23-months? LOL...He's TWO!!! I can now say one word...2---OK, I'm getting loopy, got to go to sleep. Goodnight all!!!!
