Guest guest
: Not sure what you were looking for in the files section, but I will be happy to assist you. If one were to take cod liver oil and Resveratrol and become very tired, I would guess its a herx, but likely won't last very long. Those two target Bartonella, but also viruses. You can lower your dose or skip a dose to handle the herxing better. At my house, we did herx on Resveratrol, but not cod liver oil. We herxed for about 3 weeks, and the OCD got worse for some before it disappeared. Everyone had different herxing symptoms. But, in the end, we loved the Resveratrol, and it eventually gave us lots of energy and good moods. Thus, I love it. We are full of Bartonella here as well as other pathogens. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > I can't read the files. Guest guest
-Thank You Heidi! I will tell my daughter that. I actually have a ton of questions. Typically do people using this protocol find themselves taking 10 or more supplements, herbs or other treatments during the 2 years along with revisatrol and clo to get better? But some supplements you don't take, like magnesium feeds the bad guys...so you are replacing magnesium with topical creme or epsom salt baths. Is there a list somewhere of the supplements that feed the bad guys? I read about samenta and cumandra...does adding these help with the herxing or make the treatment go better? In this case we probably have more than just bartonella then. If I do muscle test, is there a list of questions or pathogens to ask about? In general, how much does it cost you all on average per month per person to treat for lymes/other pathogens? Where can I get tests for bartonella? I live near the great plains lab. Is there any other herbs or supplements to help the herxing? I wondered if the herx was die off if activated charcoal given an hour later would reduce the herxing. Or if giving curcumin for inflammation, uva ursi for yeast and bacteria, or milk thisle for liver, or using the sauna would stop the herxing. My daughter and I have low cortisol levels. Will treating for bartonella wipe out her adrenals? Should we address her adrenals first?
Guest guest
, I hope that other listmates will chim in to share with you their treatment experience and costs with you. I want post a short note to address your last question. I do believe that the adrenal issue should be addressed as early as possible. I do not think that the treatment causes adrenal stress, but the infections do. When one contracts Lyme and/or coinfections, the adrenal glands will be under great pressure from several sources, including the immune system itself (particularly the cytokines IL-1 and IL-6), the pituitary gland which makes hormones to deal with the infection, and the stress of being sick adding another pressure to overburdened adrenal glands (Dr. KS). Vitamin C, vitamin B5, and magnesium are the basic adrenal support nutrients. Guest guest
Hi , I will only comment on the adrenal issues for now. I agree with Limin. Adrenal function needs to be addressed. You will have a much harder time fighting the infection when your adrenals are stressed. I have 's disease. It is much more serious than the typical case of adrenal fatigue. I have to be on hydrocortisone or I will die. The things that help me will easily apply to you and your daughter. I take pantethine, vitamin c, magnesium, cordyceps, ashwaganda, and eleuthero. Stress reduction needs to be paramount(okay everyone stop laughing). I know it is hard, but you need to take time to destress each day. Go to bed by 10 each night if possible. Use plenty of good sea salt. I use the Pink salt by Premier. Drink a ton of water. Low adrenal reserve leaves a person prone to dehydration. Low adrenal people are more prone to be sodium wasters. We tend to retain potassium though so do not take electrolyte drinks like gatorade since they are way too high in potassium and way too low in sodium. Be careful of the heat because you can dehydrate easily. Stay away from sugar. It can burn out your adrenal reserve. Isocort can be a very helpful supplement. Each pill contains 2.5 mg of naturally occurring hydrocortisone. LDN is a very helpful supplement as well. It helps me to have more of a core and to fight the infection, but it should only be used after you address your adrenal issues. It is a prescription med. To be honest 's can be really challenging when dealing with Lyme or any infection. My body can not react to the physical stress by producing more cortisone. I need to adjust my steroids during a herx sometimes. I also approach killing the infection more gently. If I am too aggressive I will end up stressing my adrenals even more. Lastly, if you have thyroid issues as well always address the adrenal issues first. It can be quite dangerous to supplement with thyroid hormone before you get your adrenals under control. I hope that this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Take care, Peggy
Guest guest
: Here are some answers for you: Most people will go on numerous supplements, herbs, etc. They may start to get better right away, but it appears that they have to stay on the treatments to continue to get better and to keep symptoms from returning. If you want to only treat Bartonella, the top choices are (in no particular order) antibiotics like Zithromax, Dr. Z's Chinese herbs, Dr. C's Neutromedix herbs, Master herbalist B's herbs. There is a docter, Dr. S, who writes entire books on just Bartonella. He just came out with a new one. Thus, he also has treatment ideas. The treatment ideas include antibiotics like zithromax, and/or herbs like Cumanda, Resveratrol, Stepahania, and a herb called HH. It does appear to take months, and maybe years to rid. I think the choice to use either topical or oral magnesium may depend upon your whole treatment plan. In the beginning we used magnesium-sulphate cream and then after a while, switched to magnesium malate pills. I like taking lyme killers along with the magnesium malate pills. Several in my family did herx the first weeks on magnesium-sulphate, so maybe it started pulling the lyme out then. I think its good to get the lyme to come out as long as the immune system is able to handle it or you are on a lyme killer. Samento and Cumanda make most herx. People say they love them, but initially get a worsening of symptoms. At my house, the worsening lasted 3 weeks, then the wonderful disappearance of symptoms happened. But, we are still on them. I have to say that Samento is my favorite herb yet. There are cheap things to do and expensive things to do. I hear all kinds of variances. I spend about $125.00 a month per person at my house just in supplements. We eat organic as well, which is probably doubling our grocery bill. And then testing can be expensive. Thus, you kind of just look at all the options, and prices, and pick a plan. I vote for Fry Labs to be the best place to test for Bartonella, 1-. They can test via antibodies and via visually looking at the blood under the microscope. A lot of people like Fry because they send you a 8 x 10 glossy photo of your blood. We did test positive via Fry for Bartonella. I got the package deal which tests for Babesia and others as well, but not for lyme. All those things you listed for herxing are reported by many as working well for them. I use Turmeric, milk thistle, and a bunch of other things. I would not be able to do this without things to enable my body to handle the die-off, so I feel its essential. Yes, its recommended to support the adrenals while killing your pathogens. I definitely recommend getting your body healthy with adrenal, liver, and digestion support and a good die-off plan because killing pathogens is very hard on most people. Many have reported horrible symptom increases, some even panicking, due to not having a die-off plan or forgetting to use their die-off plan. Re-ask me off-list for the names of the doctors you want to research or contact. You can go to www.liafoundation.org and find information under "treatments" to learn more about these herbs.
