Guest guest
Gayatri- Just for the purpose of learning I wanted to ask you some questions about your choices. YOu are using additional lactbacillus, does your child have trouble maintaining this bacteria? I ask this because my son has trouble maintaining this particluar strain. I had thought it was because of his elevated oxalate levels. Do you know why this might happen? Is it something other than oxalates? Is this brand casein free? Which Pharmax HLC do you use? I don't think any of the probiotics you use have the strep strain in them. Do you know anything about this? Thanks for your help. > > > > It is time to reorder my son's probiotic and I wanted to see what > > others on this list use. Guest guest
I do a short rotation of 3 or so probiotics, because that's what I've got right now. When I'm really organized I'll rotate 4 or more. I have some Allicillin drops that I used on my son's infected molluscum--when we didn't know if it was MRSA or not (it wasn't). It definitely made a difference in less 24 hrs. Jill "Every mighty oak was once a nut that stood its ground." Guest guest
Great! Good to know, that's what my gut was telling me. I think I need to listen to it more often!
Guest guest
We use Inliven or Fast Tract. This is good timing since you can listen to the formulator speaking tonight as a guest on a series of cancer calls. I'll paste the info in below. You can also listen to him on my friend's website www.kindredaudio.com -- don't skip any modules though, it's best to listen to them in order (about an hour). This was a crucial factor in fixing our guts. I used to work for a doctor so had access to different prescription probiotics and have tried dozens of HFS brands as well. The Inliven worked in one day to eliminate 90% of her pain (her words). The second day the pain was gone. This was daily excruciating pain. Long story and I don't have time right now for it but if interested can write out the details later or tomorrow. The big difference with these bacteria is that they are able to form colonies of healthy bacteria, will eventually (usually less than a month) crowd out the bad stuff (versus killing it) and the gut will normalize. My website for this is www.goodskinforlife.com. There's not a whole lot of info there but I'd be happy to email you files. I'll be forever grateful for finding this product. Despite the ingredient list, it is possible even for people who are gluten-intolerant to take it. Even most celiacs can tolerate it although the Fast Tract would be better to start with in that case. The Inliven simply has a lot of amino acids in it which help to rebuild healthy tissues. I've yet to have a client who has been unhappy with this product and have not had one single product return in over 3 years of using it. My goal is to get people to use as few supplements as possible and get their bodies to absorb the food they're already eating. I do not believe in taking isolated vitamins unless there is a serious deficiency. Food is perfectly designed with all the phytonutrients working together rather than isolated. Absorption, poor food quality, etc are problems of course and we do need to add additional superfoods into our diets to achieve optimal health but within reason. No one should be going broke just to stay healthy. Here's the info for that call tonight. Czerral is always a pleasure to listen to. He's a great story teller and has a gift for making complicated things sound easy. He also walks his talk, has been a macrobiotic eater for most of his life and looks about 30 years younger than his age. Sharon Hoehner www.sharethecause.com/detoxqueen Just a quick reminder to join us tonight at 9pm EST / 6pm PST to learn how to " cancer-proof " yourself and your loved ones. Microbiologist Czerral Wheeler from Australia will be with us to share the cancer-defeating secrets he has learned and tested over the last two decades. If you're fed up with the cancer industry, this is for you, Sharon! Call-in number: PIN: 166605 See you there! Guest guest
Yes my son has zero lactobacillus and yes he has the oxalate problem as well. What is the lactobacillus connection to oxalates? I do know there is some correlation between the absence of lactobacillus and the presence of the bumps on the arms everyone attributes to absence of EFAs. I think it is casein free, here's the fact sheet. http://www.allergyresearchgroup.com/proddesc/discuss/LactobacillusPlantRhamSal_P\ DFProductSheet040105.pdf The HLC I am using right now is the high potency one. http://www.rockwellnutrition.com/HLC-High-Potency-Probiotic-CAPS-by-Pharmax-Non-\ Returnable_p_0-57.html My Rhinebeck one has strep thermophilus and since the DAN recommended it, it must be okay by him....sorry not much help here. Guest guest
Gayatri- There is some association between high oxalate levels and the absence of lactibacillus. I am not sure if its presence of unbound oxalates in the gut creating an inhospitable environment for the bacteria, if the inflammation in the guts kills it off, or if the unbound oxalate actually kills it. I have a friend who has had a lot of success treating her son with the LOD and she is the one who told me, unfortunate for you she is the brains behind the operation, not me! But I do know one of the reasons why people on the LOD take VSL#3 is because of its high level of lactobacillus. Now I did not know about the association between lactobacillus and the " goose flesh " . I too thought it was an EFA deficiency. > > > > > > > > It is time to reorder my son's probiotic and I wanted to see what > > > > others on this list use. Guest guest
Hi , Ready for an epic on pro-biotics? At the end I'll paste a message from me posted to my local biomed group a few months ago. Since I wrote it, I've added more to my rotation. It seems the more different brands I add, the better my son gets - so of course I can't stop! Our local Elephant Pharm had a big closing down sale and I bought a bottle of every different probiotic they had in their fridge. Once I run out of those I'll seriously take a look at which strains are duplicated in the same volume in others. But for the moment, our gut biodiversity comes from 10 different bottles! I take almost all of them too, except for the expensive/special order ones. My kid isn't a " strep " guy, so I don't need to be concerned there. He is back on A2 casein foods, so I'm not overly worried about potential trace amounts in VSL#3. He has been off gluten for 2.5 years with NO infractions and a recent urinary peptide test showed small (WNL but still detectable) amounts of the gluten peptide. I can only assume Jill is correct and it's in the Primal Defense probiotic. I'm not too worried for my son, but I though I should mention it. The new ones in my fridge from the super sale are: New Chapter All-Flora Solgar Advanced 40+ Acidophilus Mega Food Mega Flora 20 billion Then I got a new one from Dr S yesterday that I don't know much about yet. She is raving about it as the new yeast buster on the block. Haven't cracked it open yet. My son and I both tested well for it with bioset, but I'm going to wait till this weekend in case we have massive die-off. It's called Syntol SEBbiotic-AMD http://www.arthurandrew.com/syntol I'm such a pro-biotic hound - always looking for something new to add. I want as many troops on my side as possible - killing off and crowding out the bad guys. I'm the general with the biggest army, so I HAVE to have a better chance of winning the war. Hahahahaha! Here is my posting to my local group: ************************************ Below is a list of what I use. I do a double dose of a different type every night. Bio-diversity is the key. Different strains colonize different locations of the GI tract (because of different pH levels, nutrient requirement etc) so you want to make sure you have as many different types on board as possible. *Garden of Life Primal Defense. (Whole Foods fridge- contains soil organisms.) *Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50+ Billion (Whole Foods fridge) *Colon Health Support (Yasko - contains colostrum) *HLC MindLinx (Whole Child Wellness) *Klaire Labs Ther-biotic Detox Support (Whole Child Wellness) *VSL#3 (http://www.vsl3.com and perhaps Elephant Pharmacy) Jill said that Primal Defense MAY contain gluten. I'll find out soon because I'm about to do a casein and gluten peptide urine test and if he's positive for gluten I'll know it must be from there. He's been gluten free with no infractions for two years. VSL#3 may contain trace amounts of casein according to the manufacturer. I went back and forth with them for a while before they said the process is SURE to strip out all the milk proteins, but they say MAY just to cover their butts. I decided to try it and my son had no negative reactions. Plenty of positives though. If you want the powdered version, get unflavored. The flavoring they use is artificial and nasty. The Yasko one may contain casein because it has colostrum. I only added it last year when I was sure my son's gut was pretty much healed and also had DPP IV enzymes on board. If you want to add trillions of lactobacillus, raw sauerkraut is fantastic. " Cultured " is the best brand - made in Berkley. They don't have a website, but here is some info and a picture of the lemon/garlic/dill jar (I just get the regular plain version): http://www.sustainlane.com/reviews/lemon-garlic-dill-raw-sauerkraut/A4WHYQ2AIBAN\ \ IR1HXZILL1KT2C9O Whole Foods in Cupertino has them, but not Los Altos. They are in the fridge case across from the dairy, next to tofu cheese and such. It's $10 a jar. If it starts to get too expensive you can always make your own. It's very easy to do, but summer is not the best time - unless you have a basement or buy a special crock that keeps it cool while fermenting. My last batch came out limp and chewy because of the heat last month. I'll just buy the ones from Whole Foods until I get a harsch crock (they are quite expensive) or wait for cooler weather. Young coconut kefir is another way to go, but I can't use it because my son is allergic (IgE) to all forms of yeast - even the beneficial type. Also to coconut, but even the water kefir gives him a bad reaction, so it must be the beneficial yeast. s teaches you how to make sauerkraut and kefir in her cooking class - along with kombucha (which my son also can't have because of the yeast + phenols from the tea). I buy it premade at Whole Foods for myself though. It's an expensive habit! ********************************************** > > It is time to reorder my son's probiotic and I wanted to see what > others on this list use. Guest guest
Hi ; I would definitely look into Custom Probiotics. Expensive, but well worth it. They make several different formulations and one is specific for ASD kids as it is not cultured on dairy. Kim

Guest guest
You might be right. As I said, it was information given to me by a friend and I could have gotten myself confused, which would not be the first time. :-) > >> > > > > >> > > > It is time to reorder my son's probiotic and I wanted to see > > what > >> > > > others on this list use.
