Heidi N My son has low NK cells (apart from elevated strep antibodies and antibodies against myelin basic protein on neuroscience panel). He is on IVIG....but is there a herbal/supplement that might help boost NK cells? He used to be a herpes (oral) kid, but I havent seen it recently and he is off of Acyclovir.Dr Amy recommended i try the high dose Vit A but I am a bit cautious - worried about toxicity/other issues.Any suggestions? Guest guest
Hi , that was also my thought on the multi-immune. They do have a mushroom free version (didnt you try that?). My son (since the Ketotifen drug), seems to tolerate pomegranate. But I am more worried about the mushroom since he has IgE allergy to yeast. So, thanks, but I will defly get the mushroom free version. Got it from Dr Song's office. Myson couldn't handle the phenols (green tea and pomegranate extracts)and the cyano B12 at the time, so I'm polishing off the bottle myself. The mushrooms could also have been a problem for him. He's not a supersensitive kid, but the combination was just too much for him.In the future I'd like to try him on it again, but I need to get hishis PST pathways running more quickly and his multiple chemicalsensitivities totally under control. Then I think he could handle it.He ate part of a fresh pomegranate the other day with no phenolreaction, so he's back on track again. If you are OK with the idea of open bottle sharing, I can bring it toour beyond biomed meeting this weekend. You can shake out a few andtry them out on your son without having to buy a whole bottle. Theyare not cheap.....--- In BorreliaMultipleInf ectionsAndAutism @yahoogroups. com, PramilaSrinivasan <pramila_s@. ..> wrote:>> I will look at the Transfer factor. Guest guest
In addition to oral supplementation, anything you can do to increase the levels of endorphins will indirectly promote the production of NK cells. NK cells have endorphin receptors on their surfaces. When endorphins are present, the NK cells increase in number and in function by as much as 300 percent (Dr. KS). Exercise, massage, touch therapy, acupuncture, laughter, core body temperature elevation (sauna bath), and dark chocolate (without sugar) are all known to increase the levels of endorphins, and therefore promote the health of NK cells. I have one bottle unopened in my refrigerator. I cannot comment on it, as I have not used it yet. I currently give Ingvar another product, NT Factor Energy made by the same company, to increase cell membrane fluidity and address mitochondria issue. I like this product. Researched Nutritionals brand is recommended by both professor Garth Nicolson and Dr. JB to Lyme patients. https://www.researchednutritionals.com/store/item.cfm?code=CRN103 & cat=3 Limin From: Pramila Srinivasan Sent: Monday, October 27, 2008 14:01 To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Re: Re: Toxin Binders/NK boosters I see, I guess I will continue the rotation. I wonder if there is something to boost NK cellsthat does not affect lyme directly.Pramila To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Monday, October 27, 2008 1:58:17 PMSubject: Re: Re: Toxin Binders/NK boosters Dr. WLC usually does not recommend using a Lyme herb continuously without rotation and taking a break. He believes that continual using Lyme herbs without rotation and breaks will force Borrelia to encyct itself.
