Making counterclaim by technical analysis is easy enough but is seldom convincing. It is amazingly difficult sometimes to thread ones way through the maze between science and pseudo-science. As people with a serious illness, we are always looking for good news that will help our affliction. This makes us targets of the unscrupled and of the innocently ignorant. And when many in the mainstream of medicine seem to cast our illness issues aside, it is harder again. But when any ask for our commitment and our money, we must be skeptical as you are in asking for experienced opinion. But do be careful, because experienced opinion is what you will find plenty of. And opinion alone is not enough. There must be truth behind the idea also. We have hope - especially that is true of the folks in internet news groups. More I think than anything else, our own hope is our best help. If our attitude is positive, our stress managed well, our love of life alive; then any therapy is multiplied - be that a true or foolish therapy. Scientifically they call this the placebo effect and is generally put at 30%. That is to say that with expectation alone, 30% will find success. When you add this hope, often a hope of the last resort, to the strange pseudo-science about you will have 30% happy users. And since these folks were unhappy or unsuccessful with other (maybe even all other) remedies, those helped by the strange science will be very very thankful. They become almost evangelistic. They will gladly tell you of their experience. The good news is their enthusiasm may encourage you to belief and help. The bad news is that that help is not from them or their silly appliances but from within yourself. Pseudo-science just takes your money. Learn all you can about your illness. Do all you can to be healthy. But maintain a balance of healthy skepticism as well as a good measure of hope. It is noteworthy how many people share their experience that meditation is a most necessary part of their maintaining perspective. And its FREE. I know nothing about your Chlamydia Pneumonie. I only wished to caution you on the machines. Good luck in your search for answers. You have hope. That will multiply whatever you do. But surely it is best to multiply the truth and not a well intended lie. Peace Jock >> Jock, That was brilliant! I wish I could have said it so well.
