Hi Jess,

I am not a nutritional expert but my first was only breastfed for 4 weeks.

He had 1 week of formula and then it has been raw goats milk since then. We

tried watering down the goats milk as I read suggested several places. But

he acted like he was starving. My understanding the reason it is recommended

is to lower the amount of protein in the milk. It doesn't make sense to me

to lower the amount of everything else the child is getting for lower

protein. So..we quickly switched to just whole raw goats milk. He wasn't

satisfied with 12oz at a feeding with the other. The only supplement I gave

him at the time was some of GNLD's liquivite. I am not saying that this was

the best way to go but I am sure your child can just have raw milk for

awhile while waiting for other supplements. He never even had the sniffles

till he was well over a year old. He was quite healthy on it.

I would also recommend not to totally wean. Try always nursing your child

first and then give her the bottle of milk. Also use glass bottles. The

plastic leach yucky stuff into the milk. Hope that helps.
