People label others;

that paraplegic, that rocker, that autistic

looking at what's obvious,

only what is seen

and of it not a mention

of what lies in between.

A shift in your perception,

a little at a time

can bring it round to what's universal;

we all own hearts & minds.

Person first, definition second

let them decide who to be,

not everyone's pure potential

is evident to see.

So burn this into consciousness

think it, feel it, try.

Everyone is challenged by something

throughout life.

& so rise to the occasion

blaze trails within your head,

value all our differences,

leave judgment left unsaid.
