Guest guest
Hi everyone,I just spoke with the school in regards to excusing my childrens absent days. The school told me my childrens missed, tardy days will not be excused and I am violating truancy laws. They said spectrum, autism or neuro problems does not cover an excused absence or tardy. They are going to serve more court papers on me. My children do not skip school. I allow them to stay home or be tardy if they are having headache, migraine, nausea, sensory overload or hyper irritation, mood swings. The school said they had a meeting with the principle and staff and they will not allow theese reasons to be excused days. They tell me autism, pdd, spectrum health, neuro, seizure related problems are not on the excused absence list. Now what should I do? Our neurologist and other Dr.s recommended I give them needed breaks through out the school/home day or as needed. The school will not go by the neurologist or Dr. recommendation and tells me I am breaking the law. I am really stressed out over all of the school problems. What can I do or what should I do? I feel very trapped,in a corner. If the Dr.s do not have a say that matters to the school what can I do or say? Stressing out, Tishanne
